Behind the music . . .
Then there was a "gap in time", after the Winter Mornings CD was recorded until her next CD release, Cason states, "After I recorded my Winter Mornings CD... I lost my best friend of 25 years to cancer. It was a real blow to my heart. During that time, I kept trying to record another CD, but just couldn't focus.
THEN... Inner Peace emerged from the studio. Finally the gates were open again... the music was flowing.... and a brighter sounding CD was born with uplifting music with a story behind it
If you go further down the page, you can read the heart's felt story behind this break through album ~
Enjoy the new music...

INNER PEACE by Shirley Cason
The "Story"... behind this instrumental album
1. Waiting For You -
As one heart's door closes... another one opens....
& during that journey... come clarity to the heart...

2. Come Into My Room
Come, into my room, share with me your story.
Tell me all your dreams, and we'll find your glory.
There's no need to be afraid, 'cause I've heard it all before.
So let's start when it began, as I softly close the door.
In my room... In my room...

Come, into my room, just be who you are.
I'll help you find your moon, and maybe a few stars.
In a world that goes so fast, it's so easy to get lost.
I will try to guide you home,'til your soul feel safe & warm.
In my room... In my room...
(Musical Bridge)
In a world that goes so fast, It's not easy to get by.
But I promise you this, I will help you learn to fly !
In my room.
In my room..
In my room...
3. Sharing Auras -
Look for the beauty shining around
. . .the one you are in love with !
4. You Are Beautiful Music -
I was GOOD, well... up' till tonight...
But when my hand touched yours.
my spirit took flight !
There is something about your beauty.
There is something about your charm.
I don't know why this has happen...
or when it begun !
I want to know you.
Like the lyrics to my favorite song.
Would love to play you...
like a cello... so sweet and low . . . .
You bring music back to my life.
A melody so sweet, a song that feels right.
Beautiful Music...that's what you are.
Beautiful melodies, coming down from the stars...
There you stood... In the moonlight...
Your hair... your smile... you eyes... lights up the sky !
Every star in heaven is in "awe" of your grace.
When I stand next to you I melt into your flame ~ ~
Would love to have you...
and feel your heart beat close to mine.
I would drink you up, like a fine cabernet wine :)
You bring music back to my life.
A melody so sweet, a song that feels right.
Beautiful Music...that's what you are.
Beautiful melodies coming down from the stars * * *
Beautiful Music...
I wonder WHO you really are ? |
5. Follow the Teacher
The energy that surround the heart of who you love
will teach you how to fly again in your life. . .
6. Midnight Dancing with You
The energy of "passion" . . .
will teach your heart
the SECRETS of your soul !
7. Missing You... When It Rains
This song was inspired by story theme of "3 Days of Rain"
on Broadway in New York City, with actress Julia Roberts
8. I Shouldn't Care... but I do !
Starlight up my life at night
You are a mystery in my life
& bright as these stars... your eyes shine
I wonder what you think about . . . . . .
I shouldn't care... but I do...
I shouldn't care... about you.
It shouldn't matter to me if you walked out of my life.
AND just knowing you can tears me up down inside !
Was it your style... or your grace?
Was it the look in your eyes... that stole me away ?
It's so hard to sit here and know you could fade away.
So I'm going to do all I can to make you stay !
On the lake... underneath the stars...
I would love to hold you in my arms...
(Musical Bridge)
Down by the water... underneath the tree
I would love to tell you what you mean to me
Starlight up my life at night
I'm so glad you are in my life
& bright as these stars... your eyes shine
I wonder what you think about...
9. Inner Peace
NOW... through your Heart's OPEN door. . .
Let your soul be awake & FINALLY. . . free ! ! !
Feel the energy in your heart . . .
Fell it shining bright . . .
and let that love ~ ~
FOREVER
Mystify
~ : ~
YOU
10.Peace For Moments Of Your Life
... in all that exist
none has your beauty

CD Reviews:
Kathy Parson - Mainly Piano. com
”Inner Peace” is Shirley Cason’s sixth release and contains eleven very personal original compositions that convey a variety of moods and emotions. Performed on keyboards, this is Cason’s first album in four years, due in part to the loss of her best friend of twenty-five years. Some of the pieces on this CD express sadness, but others are more joyful - all are very loving.
I have enjoyed reviewing all of Cason’s CDs, but I think this is my favorite. Also a songwriter, Cason has included lyrics for some of these pieces in the CD’s liner notes and on her website (everything on the recording is instrumental), adding another dimension to the music. It is suggested that this CD be used for relaxation, healing, massage, and Reiki, but I think just about everyone can enjoy this music. Honest and heartfelt music communicates to anyone receptive to its message, and this music certainly fits that description. “Inner Peace” begins with “Waiting For You,” a somewhat mysterious piece that is more ambient than melodic and has a slightly Asian flavor. It’s an intriguing beginning that invites the listener to proceed and see what’s next.“Come, Into My Room” calms and soothes with the joy of new love - a beautiful and touching song! The title track speaks of seeing the beauty that shines around the one you are in love with. This piece also has an Asian influence and is very atmospheric. “You Are Beautiful Music” is a gorgeous love song to that someone who reawakens deep emotion and brings inspiration. The instrumentation is simple, with ethereal voices behind piano and guitar, creating the feeling of vast open space. “Follow the Teacher” is a jaunty, playful piece that reminds me of some of Suzanne Ciani’s earlier keyboard pieces. It’s very rhythmic with a spare but joyful melody line, creating a change of mood from most of the rest of the album.“I Shouldn’t Care, But I Do,” is quietly reflective, very honest, and more than a little frightened of loss. “Inner Peace With Love” is graceful and warm like a cozy hug. “Peace For The Moments Of Your Life” is a blissful guitar closing that expresses contentment and serenity.
“Inner Peace” is a great choice for a calming and soothing musical escape. Very accessible and satisfying, it is available from shirleycason.com and amazon.com & iTunes. Recommended!

Bill Binkelman - New Age Reporter
Featuring a blend of electronic keyboards and piano played in a gentle, romantic and reflective style "Inner Peace" is, simply put, an easy album to like from the start, as has been the case with every CD I ve reviewed from this artist. ----
"Waiting For You" features a pleasing bell tone refrain as the main ingredient, echoed to just the right degree. As the refrain fades, the bell tones become sparser in nature, yet they retain a graceful warmth and friendliness. "Come, Into My Room" brings piano to the forefront (heavily echoed), with bowed strings (sampled cello and violin, I think) and an occasional gentle rush of cymbal. "Sharing Auras" has a haunting quality to it at first with pipe-like keys and chorals but the early minimal rhythms eventually coalesce into a steady cadence and the tune turns into a gently loping piece with a sensation of walking along a path. There is a vague hint of Africa in whatever Cason sampled to play the rhythm track on. "You Are Beautiful Music" rolls along nicely via piano, guitar, and slow tempo beats as well as synth textures deep in the mix. "Follow The Teacher" has a playful air to it with plucked orchestral strings, solo flute, chimes, and the same kind of rhythmic effect previously heard on Sharing Auras. " Missing You When it Rains" is appropriately somber with only minimal synth embellishment to the lead piano melody. Likewise " I Shouldn t Care, But I Do" on which the piano is even more minimal and the mood is sadder than on the previous track. "Peace For The Moments Of Your Life" (a short minute and a half) closes out the CD with a classic keyboard sound harkening back to the early days of the genre casting a nostalgic glow on the musical landscape. The album's only misstep is the equally short (under two minutes) "Midnight Dancing With You", a semi-abstract ambient-ish piece that suffers by comparison to the simpler fare heard throughout the rest of the CD. ----
The song titles on "Inner Peace" seem to indicate that this music is highly personal to Shirley Cason, perhaps inspired by someone close to her. However, the music itself holds universal appeal; its innate likeability and simple unpretentious charm (no overly glitzy production here, the lack of which may be a turn off for some) are the main reasons I like the CD.
